We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Product Design Engineer to join a busy and innovative engineering team focused on product design, CAD modelling and continuous improvement within manufacturing. As a Product Design Engineer you will work across the full product lifecycle, from conceptual design and prototyping through to testing, validation and final production approval. You will also contribute to improving existing products and introducing new designs to market. The Product Design Engineer will utilise 3D CAD software to create detailed part and assembly drawings, whilst carrying out engineering analysis such as FEA and supporting manufacturing processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong design engineering experience, particularly in injection moulding, who is keen to develop their technical skills and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

DUTIES

  • Design and Development: Create and develop new product designs using 3D CAD software
  • Prototype Testing: Build and test prototypes to validate concepts and performance
  • Product Improvement: Continuously improve existing products and components
  • Technical Drawings: Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings
  • Engineering Analysis: Perform FEA and other analysis to support design decisions
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with internal teams to support manufacturing and installation
  • Documentation Creation: Develop technical instructions and product specifications
  • Rendering and Visualisation: Create images and renders for catalogues and marketing materials
  • Pre-Production Support: Assist with sample approval and transition to production

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Product Design or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven experience in CAD design within a product development or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with injection moulded product design
  • Knowledge of drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD)
