This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join an organisation dedicated to supporting business growth and economic development across Lancashire. As the Business Development Manager, you will identify and secure new opportunities, develop strategic partnerships and promote a range of products and services designed to help businesses succeed. The Business Development Manager will engage with companies of all sizes, with a particular focus on larger organisations, taking time to understand their challenges, priorities and ambitions before presenting tailored solutions that add real value.
DUTIES
- Develop New Opportunities: Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities across a range of sectors throughout Lancashire.
- Build a Strong Pipeline: Generate leads through networking, referrals, strategic prospecting and business engagement activity.
- Lead Consultative Conversations: Speak with senior decision-makers to understand business needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Manage the Sales Process: Oversee the full sales journey from initial contact through to proposal, negotiation and close.
- Achieve Growth Targets: Work towards agreed income and membership growth targets.
- Represent the Organisation: Attend events, networking activities and business engagements across the region.
- Manage Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with members, clients and stakeholders to support retention and engagement.
- Identify Client Needs: Understand clients’ objectives, challenges and opportunities to identify additional support requirements.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with colleagues across marketing, events and business support to maximise opportunities and deliver a strong customer experience.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Keep CRM records, sales activity, pipeline performance and customer interactions up to date.
- Produce Reports and Forecasts: Prepare regular reports and forecasts to support business planning and growth strategies.
