We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a GRP Finisher / Composite Repair Technician with previous experience in a similar GRP Repairer / Composite Finisher / Refinishing / Car Body Finishing / Laminating / Fibre Glass / Glass Reinforced Plastic Repairing role, with strong knowledge of GRP materials, tools, and repair techniques.
Working as a skilled and detail-oriented GRP Finisher / Composite Repair Technician you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality repairs and refinishing work on Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) components used in the manufacture of yachts. As a GRP Finisher / Composite Repair Technician you will be required to identify damage or defects to a range of yacht components/products and determine the appropriate repair methods. Applicants must use their knowledge in hand and power tools for grinding, sanding, cutting, and polishing when determining the appropriate repair process.
DUTIES
- Carry out complex repairs on mouldings and mould tools, including preparation, laminating and finishing, to a high standard.
- Identify damage or defects and determine the appropriate repair method.
- Use hand and power tools for grinding, sanding, cutting, and polishing.
- Mix resins and hardeners accurately and apply them according to specifications.
- Ensure work is completed to company quality standards and within project deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Follow all health and safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
