Plumber / Heating Engineer / HVAC Technician who has at least an NVQ Level 3 in plumbing, refrigeration or mechanical services is required to carry out repairs and reactive and planned maintenance work as part of a larger team for an NHS Trust based in Southall, West London.

SALARY: £34,521 – £41,956 pro rata

LOCATION: Southall, West London

JOB TYPE: Temporary (with opportunities to go permanent)

WORKING HOURS: 8:00 – 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 8:00 – 16:00 Friday

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity to join a vibrant London Estates Maintenance Department for a Plumber / Heating Engineer / HVAC Technician who has at least an NVQ Level 3 in plumbing, refrigeration or mechanical services.

Working as the Plumber / Heating Engineer / HVAC Technician you will provide multi-skilled trades to operate, maintain and service plant or equipment within the scope of the role at all London sites as required.

You will also provide technical support, advice and instruction to other maintenance staff and contractors.

As the Plumber / Heating Engineer / HVAC Technician you will carry out work activities which are both routine and non-routine. Carry out new works, repairs and routine planned maintenance activities to mechanical and heating, hot and cold water plant, equipment and services, and building related works.

DUTIES

  • Carry out work activities which are both routine and non-routine maintenance.
  • Carry out new works, repairs and routine planned maintenance activities to ventilation/cooling, heating, hot and cold water plant, equipment and services.
  • Carry out reactive work requests, minor new installation requests and planned preventative maintenance dockets efficiently.
  • Escort contractors carrying out inspections, installations and/or repairs.
  • Strictly adhere to the relevant policies and procedures, maintain tool lists and comply with Health and Safety and Security Regulations.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 in plumbing, refrigeration or mechanical services.
  • Specialised in a mechanical service (i.e. Gas, refrigeration, heat pumps).
  • Water safety Training.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical, ventilation or gas installations and maintenance.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Experience working within an NHS environment.
  • Initially, the post holder will require to have their own tools & PPE.
  • Ability to interact at all levels.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Computer literate.
  • Site based, primarily UB1 but candidate may be asked to attend to other London sites.
  • Satisfactory attendance to work 8-16:30 M to T and 8-16 F.
  • Current clean driving license (manual).
  • Work to deadlines and may be required at any London site.
  • May be required to participate in the Department’s out of hours on-call system.
