Paint Shop Operative / Paint Preparation Technician A great opportunity for a Paint Shop Operative to join a practical production environment, preparing components for processing and supporting paint sprayers. Previous paint preparation or manufacturing/production experience would be ideal but is not essential, as training can be provided for someone with the right attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn. As a Paint Shop Operative you will prepare work before processing, help ensure customer products meet specification and support the smooth running of production activity. The Paint Shop Operative will follow internal and external SOPs, jig components, handle parts carefully and complete relevant processing documentation. DUTIES Your duties as the Paint Shop Operative include: • Paint Preparation Support: Support paint sprayers by preparing work before the processing operation • Component Jigging: Jig components correctly in line with internal procedures and production requirements • SOP Compliance: Understand and follow internal and external standard operating procedures • Production Plan Delivery: Work towards the production plan, ensuring customer products meet the required specification • Parts Handling: Handle all parts with care and maintain an understanding of correct handling requirements • Quality Standards: Help ensure acceptable quality levels are achieved throughout the preparation and processing stages • Work Preparation Practices: Apply an understanding of work preparation principles and paint preparation procedures • Documentation Control: Follow and complete all documentation relevant to processing accurately and correctly • Rework Records: Ensure all rework is documented in line with procedure • Health and Safety: Work safely in compliance with company health and safety policies, procedures and statutory requirements • Environmental Compliance: Work in a way that supports environmental policies, procedures and statutory requirements • Continuous Improvement: Review working practices to help remove waste and reduce non-value adding activities • Training Participation: Participate in training activity within the company • Team Support: Positively support teamwork, mentoring, knowledge sharing and the development of standard operating procedures • Housekeeping Standards: Maintain good housekeeping in the workplace, including shadow boards and equipment provided CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS • Previous paint preparation or manufacturing / production experience would be ideal but is not essential • A basic understanding of paint preparation principles and work preparation practices would be preferred • Able to follow internal procedures, external SOPs and production documentation accurately • Comfortable jigging components and handling parts carefully • Quality-focused approach with good attention to detail • Awareness of health and safety, environmental and quality requirements • Able to work with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity • Willing to participate in training and support continuous improvement activities • Positive teamworking approach with the ability to share knowledge and support colleagues BENEFITS • Early finish every Friday • Life Assurance • Free onsite parking • Stable long-term opportunity within a respected aerospace engineering business • Career development opportunities within a wider group organisation • Collaborative working environment where initiative and improvement ideas are encouraged HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
