JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Property Manager / Housing Manager to join a housing management team delivering a professional and customer-focused service within student accommodation. As a Property Manager / Housing Manager you will take a front-line role supporting residents, managing tenancies, and ensuring properties are well maintained and compliant. You will work both at reception and across accommodation sites, building positive relationships with residents and stakeholders. The Property Manager / Housing Manager will oversee allocations, lettings, void management, property inspections and tenancy management while ensuring systems, records and performance targets are maintained to a high standard.
DUTIES
- Tenancy Management: Manage allocations, lettings and voids in line with organisational policies and procedures
- Property Inspections: Conduct regular property and estate inspections and ensure issues are recorded and resolved
- Resident Support: Act as a key point of contact for residents, providing advice, guidance and resolving housing queries
- Handling: Investigate and resolve resident complaints while maintaining excellent customer service
- Records Management: Maintain accurate housing management records across IT systems and manual documentation
- Performance Monitoring: Ensure tenancy management targets and service performance indicators are achieved
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Legal Proceedings: Attend court hearings, evictions and external meetings when required
- Operational Support: Support the Area Manager to ensure offices operate in line with contractual obligations
- Out-of-Hours Support: Assist with the organisation or provision of an out-of-hours housing management service
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English (Grades A* - C)
- Experience working in a customer-centred environment and dealing with the public essential
- Demonstrable ability to adapt swiftly to evolving work environments
- Strong problem‑solving skills, able to navigate complex challenges and implement effective solutions
- Intermediate MS Office skills and willingness to learn new systems
- Knowledge of housing law in relation to Assured Shorthold Tenancies desirable
- Strong organisational and multi‑tasking skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Driving licence and own car desirable, but not essential
