An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily operations, manage teams and optimise site performance within a busy leisure or golf environment, delivering excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Operations Manager within a dynamic leisure and golf environment focused on community wellbeing and accessible services. As an Operations Manager, you will oversee day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring smooth delivery across customer service, staffing, scheduling and operational performance. You will lead and support Duty Managers while maintaining high standards across all areas of the site. The Operations Manager will play a key role in workforce management, staff development and long‑term operational planning, working closely with senior management to achieve business objectives and deliver a safe, welcoming and efficient environment.
DUTIES- Site Operations Management: Overseeing daily leisure or golf site operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery
- Staff Scheduling and Resourcing: Managing rotas and staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods
- People Management: Leading recruitment, training, development, absence management, one‑to‑ones, competency frameworks and timesheets
- Duty Manager Cover: Stepping in to cover Duty Manager shifts when required to maintain operational continuity
- Team Development: Managing and motivating teams to meet operational and service standards
- Operational Planning: Collaborating with senior management to achieve short and long‑term business objectives
- Organisational Structure: Building and maintaining an effective organisational structure through recruitment and staff development
- Previous experience in leisure operations, site management or a similar operational leadership role
- A good working knowledge of leisure centre or golf site operations
- Proven experience of managing teams, staffing and day‑to‑day operations
- Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly to meet business needs
- A recognised qualification in Leisure Management, Sports Development or a related subject to degree level or NVQ Level 4 NPLQ qualification POO qualification
