JOB OVERVIEW

Working as the Steeplejack Operative / Lightning Protection Mate you will support experienced operatives and foremen on nationwide sites, assisting with work at height, lightning protection, rope access, high rise building maintenance and safe site operations. As the Steeplejack Operative / Lightning Protection Mate you will follow method statements, risk assessments and instructions, while developing your safety knowledge, communication skills and problem-solving ability in a demanding outdoor construction environment.

DUTIES

  • Site Attendance: attend the Nottingham offices on a regular basis before travelling to sites nationwide
  • Working At Height: assist with a variety of work at height tasks according to individual job specifications
  • Safe Working: follow instructions set out in method statements and risk assessments
  • Team Support: assist and follow instructions from the Steeplejack / Lightning Protection Foreman
  • Nationwide Travel: work away from home on a regular basis when required
  • Practical Assistance: support experienced operatives with steeplejack, lightning protection and high rise maintenance work
  • Quality Standards: maintain a strong focus on safety, reliability and workmanship at all times
  • Skills Development: take part in on-the-job training and specialist courses to develop technical knowledge

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Working At Height Experience: proven experience in working at height
  • Risk Awareness: ability to identify risk and assess jobs appropriately
  • Site Certification: valid CSCS card, safety passport or working at height competency
  • Safety Focus: commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of your work
  • Communication Skills: strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions clearly
  • Team Working: able to work as part of a team on varied sites
