Salary: £26,000 to £40,000 per annum Basic (depending on experience) / £50,000 - £65,000 OTE (uncapped commission)
Location: Flexible after initial training time which is office based in North Shields. Field Based role covering the following locations: Darlington, Durham, Hartlepool, Hexham, Middlesbrough, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Shields, Northumberland, Stockton-on-Tees, Sunderland, Teesside.

Job Overview: We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Technical Sales Consultant to join a forward-thinking organisation operating within the renewable energy and low-carbon heating sector. As a Technical Sales Consultant, you will guide customers through their home energy transition, managing inbound enquiries, producing compliant technical designs, and converting leads into successful installations. This role suits a commercially driven individual with strong technical knowledge of heat pumps and solar PV, who enjoys consultative selling and building long-term customer relationships. The Technical Sales Consultant will work closely with internal teams to ensure high standards of compliance, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business growth.
Duties:
- Lead Management: Responding to inbound sales calls, emails, and online enquiries and qualifying prospects.
- Sales Conversion: Following up on quotations, identifying decision-makers, understanding requirements, and closing sales.
- Customer Engagement: Handling customer queries and complaints professionally to maintain high satisfaction levels.
- Technical Solution Design: Producing compliant designs and quotations for heat pump, solar PV, and battery systems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all sales activities meet MCS standards and consumer code requirements.
- Business Development: Building repeat business and developing relationships with contractors and developers.
- CRM Management: Maintaining accurate customer records and sales pipeline data within the CRM system.
- Industry Representation: Attending trade shows and delivering CPD presentations when required.
- Collaboration: Sharing insights with colleagues and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Requirements:
- Essential: Previous experience in a technical or consultative sales environment.
- Strong understanding of domestic heating systems, including heat pumps and solar PV.
- Experience with heat loss calculations and basic system design.
- Confident use of CRM systems for pipeline management and forecasting.
- A customer-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Desirable: Experience working within the renewable energy or low-carbon sector.
- Familiarity with MCS standards and compliance requirements.
- Experience delivering technical presentations or CPD sessions.
- A proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities.
