JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator with strong programming and operating experience, good knowledge of engineering drawings and the ability to produce high-quality machined components. As a CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator you will work to tight tolerances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, setting tools confidently and using inspection and measuring equipment to ensure quality standards are met. The CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator will need a methodical approach, strong work ethic and proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to work efficiently to meet challenging production deadlines.
DUTIES
- Engineering Drawings: Read and interpret engineering drawings and work accurately to tight tolerances
- CNC Programming and Operating: Use relevant CNC milling, programming and operating experience to produce precision machined components
- Tool Setting: Set tools confidently, applying a good understanding of cutting speeds and feeds
- Quality Inspection: Use inspection and measuring equipment such as verniers, bore gauges and micrometres
- Component Finishing: Deburr machined components during production while minimising disruption to workflow
- Production Standards: Produce high-quality machined components in line with company standards
- Deadline Management: Work efficiently to meet challenging deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Problem Solving: Take a proactive approach to resolving issues and maintaining smooth production workflow
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- CNC Milling Experience: Previous experience as a CNC Miller, CNC Machinist or similar precision engineering role
- Programming and Operating: Experience with CNC programming and machine operating
- Technical Drawings: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Tolerance Work: Confident working to tight tolerances within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Tooling Knowledge: Good understanding of tool setting, cutting speeds and feeds
- Measuring Equipment: Experience using verniers, bore gauges, micrometres and other inspection equipment
- Work Ethic: Strong work ethic with an efficient, reliable and methodical approach
- Problem Solving: Proactive approach to identifying and resolving production or machining issues
