Job Overview: We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Solar Panel Installer to join a growing renewable energy organisation during an exciting period of development. This role offers varied work across domestic, commercial and new-build environments. As a Solar Panel Installer you will be responsible for the installation, testing and commissioning of solar PV systems, ensuring all work meets required performance, quality and safety standards. Projects will range in size and complexity, providing excellent variety. The Solar Panel Installer role involves travel across the North of England, with occasional overnight stays where required. Accommodation and allowances are provided, along with a company van for travel to sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solar Panel Installer looking to develop their career within the renewable energy and low-carbon sector.
Duties: Your duties as the Solar Panel Installer include:
- Installation and Maintenance: Installing, testing and maintaining solar PV systems and associated technologies to a high standard
- System Commissioning: Commissioning systems to ensure performance targets and regulatory compliance are achieved
- Customer Interaction: Providing clear explanations of system operation and responding professionally to customer queries
- Site Management: Working effectively across domestic, commercial and new-build project environments
- Health and Safety Compliance: Following all health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Team Collaboration: Working closely with colleagues, project managers and other trades to deliver projects successfully
Candidate Requirements:
- Essential: Previous experience installing solar PV systems and carrying out related electrical work
- Experience working on roofs and with a range of roofing materials
- Good understanding of electrical components, wiring and system integration
- Comfortable working at height and handling equipment safely
- A full, clean UK driving licence
- Desirable: Proven experience of fault-finding and resolving installation issues
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- A background in domestic and commercial installation projects
- Good organisational and time management skills
