Job Overview: We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer / Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a highly successful manufacturing organisation offering stability, long‑term career prospects and ongoing investment in machinery and production facilities. As the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer / Electrical Maintenance Engineer you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, electrical fault finding, machinery repairs and electrical installation work across a busy manufacturing site. You will support production performance by maintaining plant equipment, factory services and industrial machinery to a high operational standard. Working within a fast‑paced production and manufacturing environment, the Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer / Electrical Maintenance Engineer will support continuous improvement activities, minimise downtime and assist with new equipment installations while ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with current legislation.
Duties:
- Performing Planned Preventative Maintenance: Completing PPM activities across plant machinery, factory services and production equipment.
- Electrical Fault Finding: Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on manufacturing and industrial machinery.
- Carrying out Reactive Maintenance: Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Completing Electrical Installations: Installing armoured cable, lighting systems, power supplies and electrical infrastructure throughout the site.
- Supporting Manufacturing Operations: Maintaining machinery including fabric inspection, cutting, lamination and coating equipment.
- Monitoring Equipment Condition: Identifying defects and reporting potential issues to management proactively.
- Interpreting Technical Drawings: Reading schematic diagrams and electrical drawings to support maintenance and installation work.
- Supporting New Machinery Installations: Assisting with commissioning and setup of new plant and equipment.
- Maintaining Safety Standards: Ensuring all maintenance and installation work complies with current legislation and site procedures.
- Working Collaboratively: Communicating effectively with production operatives, team leaders and maintenance colleagues across the business.
Candidate Requirements:
- Essential NVQ Level 3 qualification or above in Electrical Maintenance, Electrical Installation or a related engineering discipline.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, factory, industrial or production maintenance environment.
- Strong electrical fault finding, diagnostic and repair experience.
- Good mechanical knowledge and the ability to support basic mechanical maintenance activities.
- Ability to interpret schematic drawings and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of BS 7671 18th Edition wiring regulations.
- Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within a textile or paper manufacturing environment.
- IPAF qualification.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement projects and machinery upgrades.
