We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Manual Machinist with experience as a Miller, Turner or Dual Skilled Machinist, producing high-quality machined components to exacting standards. As a Manual Machinist you will read and interpret engineering drawings, work to tight tolerances, set tools confidently and use inspection equipment including verniers, bore gauges and micrometres. The Manual Machinist will need to be reliable, motivated and proactive, with a methodical approach and the ability to meet challenging deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
DUTIES
- Produce high-quality machined components in line with the company’s exacting standards.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work accurately to tight tolerances.
- Carry out manual machining work as a Miller, Turner or Dual Skilled Machinist.
- Set tools competently, applying a sound understanding of cutting speeds and feeds.
- Use measurement and inspection equipment including verniers, bore gauges and micrometres.
- Carry out deburring of machined components during production cycles while minimising disruption to output.
- Work efficiently to meet challenging deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Take a proactive approach to supporting workflow and helping drive the business forward.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience as a Manual Machinist, Manual Miller, Manual Turner or similar precision engineering role.
- Experience in manual milling, manual turning or dual-skilled manual machining.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Confident working to tight tolerances within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Competent in all aspects of tool setting, including cutting speeds and feeds.
- Strong experience using verniers, bore gauges, micrometres and other measurement equipment.
- Reliable and motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to high standards.
- Efficient, proactive and methodical, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
