We have an exciting field-based opportunity for a Sales Engineer / Field Sales Account Manager to develop B2B sales across process industries, working closely with customers and internal technical teams to deliver tailored engineering and calibration solutions.

JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Sales Engineer / Field Sales Account Manager to join a growing engineering sales function within a forward-thinking organisation operating across multiple UK regions. This role focuses on building long-term customer relationships while expanding regional sales performance. As a Sales Engineer / Field Sales Account Manager you will work closely with process industry clients including aerospace, food and beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, and oil and gas. You will deliver consultative, solution-led sales by combining technical knowledge with strong commercial awareness. The Sales Engineer / Field Sales Account Manager role is field-based and requires regular travel to customer sites. You will collaborate with internal engineering and marketing teams to identify opportunities, support bids, and drive sustainable account growth.
DUTIES
- Customer Engagement: Carrying out on-site visits to existing and prospective customers to build and maintain strong professional relationships
- Account Management: Managing and developing key customer accounts to maximise long-term revenue
- Business Development: Identifying new sales opportunities and expanding the regional customer base
- Sales Delivery: Promoting and selling engineering, instrumentation, and calibration services
- Opportunity Tracking: Recording and managing sales opportunities using internal CRM systems
- Project Support: Assisting with bids and supporting larger customer projects alongside internal teams
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with engineering, technical, and marketing colleagues
- Market Insight: Providing feedback on customer needs, competitor activity, and market trends
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- A background in engineering with exposure to electrical engineering
- Previous experience in B2B field sales, account management, or technical sales
- A strong understanding of process instrumentation and calibration within production environments
- Proven experience of selling into process industries
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical solutions clearly
- Full UK driving licence
DESIRABLE
- Endress + Hauser product knowledge, Eurotherm product knowledge, automation products, or experience selling calibration or inspection services
- Experience selling calibration, inspection, or compliance-related services such as DSEAR
- Knowledge of control, automation, or instrumentation products
- Familiarity with recognised instrumentation or automation manufacturers
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent technical qualification
