Fire Pump Engineer with previous experience of working within a similar mechanical and/or electrical engineering role, carrying out electrical testing, repairs and inspections on Engines, Motors and Pumped systems, with excellent troubleshooting skills is required for a well-established company.
SALARY: £18.00 - £22.80 per hour (depending on experience) + Company Van + Bonus + Generous Benefits
LOCATION: Travelling to various sites within and around the M25 radius which will include extensive travel. Overnight stays may be required, between 1-2 nights per week; company van provided.
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 42.5 hours per week, 9 hours Monday to Thursday and 6.5 hours on Fridays

JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Fire Pump Engineer with previous experience of working within a similar mechanical and/or electrical engineering role, carrying out electrical testing, repairs and inspections on Engines, Motors and Pumped systems, with excellent troubleshooting skills. Working as the Fire Pump Engineer you will join a growing Service and Maintenance team, travelling to client sites for system inspections, repairs and emergency responses. As the Fire Pump Engineer your role will involve a mix of electrical and mechanical engineering tasks on Air Compressors and Controllers, Jockey Pumps, Electric Fire Pumps, Diesel Engines and Diesel Fire Pumps.
DUTIES
- Perform electrical testing and inspection of Flow Monitoring Devices e.g. Pressure Switches, Flow Switches and Zone Checks / Guardians
- Perform electrical testing and inspection of Air Compressors and Controllers
- Perform electrical testing and inspection of Jockey Pumps and Controllers
- Ability to install Pump Ends (End Suctions and Split Case) and commission
- Ability to perform like for like remedial tasks to Electric Fire Pumps
- Carry out 24-month services to diesel engines
- Replace engines with new c/w base modifications
- Like for like remedial tasks to Jockey Pumps & diesel fire pumps
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Driving: A full valid driving license
- Technical Skills: Good understanding of Engines, Motors and Pumped systems is required
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform inspections and manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to detect and report issues promptly and accurately
- Able to work as part of a team
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility and a 'one team approach'
- This role may require working in challenging or high-pressure situations, particularly during emergencies
