JOB TYPE: Full‐Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 36 Hours per Week: 06:00-13:30/13:30-21:00 Monday to Thursday; 06:00-12:00/12:00-18:00 Friday (Probationary period - day shift for training purposes: 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday)

Job Overview: As a Multi‐Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will take a hands‐on, proactive approach to maintenance, fault finding and repair across a wide range of production machinery and factory services. Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you will support planned preventative maintenance, breakdown response and installation projects, ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency. This role offers long‐term stability within a successful organisation committed to continuous improvement and employee development.

Duties:

  • Planning maintenance – carrying out PPM activities across machinery, plant and site services
  • Reactive repairs – diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults efficiently
  • Fault finding – troubleshooting issues on PLC and HMI‐controlled equipment
  • Installation work – completing electrical installations including armoured cable, lighting and power systems
  • Equipment maintenance – maintaining extrusion lines, injection moulding machines and automated assembly cells
  • Continuous improvement – identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions
  • Health & Safety compliance – ensuring all work meets current legislation and safety standards
  • Technical support – supporting new machinery installations and commissioning activities
  • Team collaboration – working closely with colleagues and contributing ideas to improve processes
  • Mentoring support – assisting with training and development of apprentices where required

Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an electrical or multiskilled discipline
  • Apprentice trained or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong electrical fault‐finding and diagnostic skills
  • Proven experience with PLC and HMI systems
  • Good mechanical knowledge and maintenance experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Ability to identify faults and implement effective solutions
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable:

  • HNC or HND qualification
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • Experience with injection moulding, presses, conveyors or assembly machinery
  • Experience in single and three‐phase installations
  • IPAF certification
