Location: Wimbledon, South London
Job type: Full-Time, Permanent
Working hours: 40 hours per week on a shift pattern between 7.30am – 6.30pm, Monday to Friday
Job Overview: We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Early Years Educator / Nursery Practitioner to join the dedicated and welcoming team at Wimbledon Day Nursery. This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of age groups, supporting children to play, learn and develop in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
As an Early Years Educator / Nursery Practitioner, you will provide high standards of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care, ensuring every child feels safe, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential. The Early Years Educator / Nursery Practitioner will work closely with colleagues and parents to meet individual learning and care needs, while maintaining strong safeguarding, health and safety practices throughout the nursery.

Duties:
- Child Development Support: Planning and delivering activities tailored to each child's stage of development and interests
- Key Person Responsibilities: Acting as a key worker for a group of children, maintaining accurate learning and development records
- Safeguarding Practice: Following safeguarding procedures to ensure children's welfare, safety and wellbeing at all times
- Parental Engagement: Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with parents and carers
- Team Collaboration: Working effectively with colleagues to support a positive, inclusive nursery environment
- Care Routines: Supporting personal care routines including meal times, toileting, and nappy changing
- Health and Safety: Maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety across the nursery
- Record Keeping: Accurately recording observations, accidents, and relevant information in line with nursery procedures
- Flexibility and Support: Assisting with general nursery duties and attending training, meetings, and events as required
Candidate Requirements:
- Essential: Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent
- Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain one
- Good standard of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Desirable: Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting
- Experience acting as a key person for children
- Confidence in building positive relationships with parents and carers
