A commercially driven Business Development Manager is required to secure new business, build client relationships and manage sales pipelines across construction, interiors, fit‑out and related sectors.
The company is looking for a Business Development Manager to support continued growth by identifying, developing and securing new commercial opportunities. As a Business Development Manager you will build long‑term client and stakeholder relationships, manage a qualified opportunity pipeline and support the successful conversion of strategic projects. The Business Development Manager will represent the company within the market, support tenders and PQQs, monitor competitor activity and provide insight that helps shape growth plans. DUTIES
- New Business Development: Identify, develop and pursue new business opportunities aligned with growth strategy and sales objectives.
- Market Research: Research clients, contractors, developers, architects, designers and consultants to identify opportunities, trends and target prospects.
- Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, acting as a trusted ambassador for the company.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities, ensuring accurate forecasting and effective CRM management.
- Opportunity Qualification: Assess project opportunities for strategic fit, scope, value and likelihood of success.
- Tender Support: Coordinate responses to enquiries and tenders, including PQQs, presentations and business development submissions.
- Networking and Events: Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, exhibitions, networking opportunities and corporate hospitality events.
- Reporting and Insight: Produce reports on pipeline performance, market activity, competitor trends and sales forecasts for senior management.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Proven success in business development, account management or strategic sales within construction, interiors, fit‑out or related sectors.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and qualify profitable opportunities.
- Ability to analyse market information, identify new business opportunities and develop strategies to secure business growth.
- Excellent relationship‑building, networking and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong influencing, negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
- Experience preparing PQQs, presentations and client submissions.
- Experience using CRM systems to manage sales pipelines and forecasting.
- Self‑motivated with excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Willingness to travel as required.
DESIRABLE
- Established network within the fit‑out, interiors or construction sectors.
- Knowledge of bespoke joinery manufacturing and specialist fit‑out.
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors, developers or leading architectural practices.
