Job Overview
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Production Manager with previous experience in aerospace, precision engineering or regulated manufacturing environments. As the Production Manager you will oversee day‑to‑day manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer delivery expectations are consistently achieved. The role involves leading skilled production teams, improving operational efficiency and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the site. The successful candidate will work closely with Quality, Engineering and Planning teams to maintain robust process control, support lean manufacturing activities and promote a positive safety‑first culture throughout the organisation.
Duties
- Leading Production Teams: Managing and supporting production staff to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives
- Maintaining Compliance: Ensuring adherence to aerospace standards, customer requirements and internal manufacturing procedures
- Driving Continuous Improvement: Supporting lean manufacturing, workflow optimisation, waste reduction and operational efficiency initiatives
- Monitoring Performance: Tracking production output and providing regular operational updates to senior leadership teams
- Resolving Production Issues: Working closely with Quality and Engineering teams to maintain process control and address manufacturing challenges
- Managing Resources: Supporting effective production planning, staffing and resource allocation across manufacturing operations
- Promoting Safety Standards: Encouraging a positive, accountable and safety‑first culture throughout the production environment
- Supporting Employee Development: Assisting with employee training, development and performance management activities
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager or Senior Supervisor within aerospace, precision engineering or regulated manufacturing
- Knowledge of AS9100, NADCAP or similar regulated industry standards
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, 5S methodologies and continuous improvement practices
- Strong people management and team leadership capabilities within fast‑paced manufacturing environments
- Proven experience delivering process improvements and operational performance enhancements
- A practical and solutions‑focused approach to resolving production challenges
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across all organisational levels
- A strong commitment to health and safety, quality assurance and operational excellence
- Surface treatments experience would be advantageous
