As the Health and Social Care Tutor, you will deliver Health and Social Care qualifications from Entry Level to Level 2, supporting learners from enrolment through to achievement. You will create an inclusive learning environment where learners develop vocational knowledge, employability skills, confidence and resilience. You will also provide pastoral and tutorial support, monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records and work with colleagues to support English and Maths achievement.
Your duties as the Health and Social Care Tutor include:
- Teaching, Learning and Assessment: Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment in Health and Social Care across Entry Level to Level 2 programmes.
- Planning and Resources: Provide tutorial and pastoral support that helps learners overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.
- English and Maths Support: Work with specialist colleagues to support learner progress in English and Maths qualifications.
- Embed employability, social skills, digital skills and personal development into teaching and learning.
- Quality and Compliance: Contribute to course reviews, quality assurance, standardisation meetings and compliant learner administration.
- Safeguarding and Inclusion: Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, equality, diversity and positive behaviour across the learning environment.
- Work Placements: Monitor learner work placements and complete health and safety checks in line with organisational procedures.
Qualifications required:
- PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or a related subject.
- Relevant industry experience working with adults in care settings.
- Experience teaching or supporting young people in an education or training environment.
- Good ICT skills, including Microsoft packages and eILPs.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, learner wellbeing and positive learner outcomes.
