WORKING HOURS: Two-week shift pattern with compressed hours:
- Four 10 hour day shifts Monday to Thursday 07:00-17:30
- Four 10 hour night shifts Monday to Wednesday 19:00-05:00 and Thursday 17:30-03:30

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a CNC Miller / CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering environment following continued investment in new plant and machinery. As a CNC Miller / CNC Machinist you will be responsible for producing high-quality components from billets, castings, fabrications, and forgings, working with large-capacity CNC machines and Fanuc control systems.

- Ward Hyundai Wia KBN135-CL, 2m x 1.8m table, Travel 4m x 2m x 2m, 15 tonne table capacity
- Fanuc CNC Control, 90 angled, orthogonal, and facing heads, B-axis table (0.001)
- ATC Hartford PBM135C boring and milling machine 3000mm x 2000mm x 2000mm, 15 tonnes table loading
- FANUC 31iMB CNC control system

DUTIES
Your duties as the CNC Miller / CNC Machinist include:
- CNC Machine Operation: Setting, programming, and operating CNC turning and boring machines
- Component Production: Manufacturing precision parts from billets, castings, fabrications, and forgings
- Programming Activities: Creating and editing CNC programs to meet engineering specifications
- Machine Setup: Preparing machines for one-off and small batch work
- Quality Control: Inspecting components using manual measurement equipment for dimensional and surface finish accuracy
- Drawing Interpretation: Reading and working from detailed engineering drawings
- Process Improvement: Supporting efficient machining practices and continuous improvement
- Equipment Care: Maintaining machines and tools to high operational standards
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- Apprenticeship Background: Time-served machine shop apprenticeship
- Machining Experience: Previous experience with CNC lathes or vertical borers
- Job Setup Skills: Ability to set and run one-off jobs
- Programming Knowledge: Experience with CNC programming
- Measurement Skills: Confident use of manual measuring equipment
- Technical Understanding: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
DESIRABLE
- Large Machine Experience: Exposure to large-capacity CNC machinery
- Control Systems: Experience working with Fanuc CNC control systems
