We have an excellent full-time, temporary contract opportunity for a Quality Assurance Coordinator to support food safety, quality assurance / QA and compliance within a food manufacturing environment, working closely with the technical function to maintain high standards.
SALARY: up to £35,000 per annum pro rata (depending on experience)
LOCATION: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Temporary Maternity Cover Contract (up to 10 months)
WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
JOB OVERVIEW: We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Quality Assurance Coordinator to join a food manufacturing site on a maternity cover contract of up to ten months, starting in March 2026. As a Quality Assurance Coordinator, you will support the Technical Manager in ensuring all food safety, quality and compliance standards are consistently met in line with internal procedures and BRCGS requirements. The Quality Assurance Coordinator will play a hands-on role within production, carrying out inspections, audits and checks to ensure products meet specification and quality expectations. This role is well suited to someone with previous food industry experience who enjoys a varied quality-focused position within a manufacturing environment.
Duties:
- Taste Panel Inspections: Carrying out taste panel inspections on finished products to ensure quality standards are met
- Production Paperwork Audits: Reviewing and auditing production documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Quality Issue Reporting: Identifying, reporting and escalating quality issues and non-conformances
- Raw Material Intake Checks: Completing checks on incoming raw materials against specifications
- Food Safety Compliance: Supporting adherence to food safety, quality and hygiene standards
- Technical Support: Assisting the Technical Manager with day-to-day quality assurance activities
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate quality and inspection records
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar quality assurance role within the food manufacturing industry
- Experience with quality assurance processes, inspections and audits
- A good understanding of food safety and quality standards
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills
- Ability to work effectively on site within a manufacturing production environment
- Confident communication skills and the ability to report issues clearly
