An excellent opportunity for a proactive and commercially minded Human Resources professional to take ownership of a varied generalist role, supporting recruitment, HR operations, employee relations, HR systems and continuous improvement within a fast-paced SME environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an HR Generalist who enjoys variety, takes ownership and is confident supporting managers across the employee lifecycle. Working as the HR Generalist you will support the day-to-day delivery of HR, including recruitment, HR operations, employee relations, HR reporting, compliance and people-focused process improvements. The Generalist will also use technology, data and AI tools to help improve efficiency, documentation, reporting, manager self-service and employee experience across the organisation.

DUTIES

  • Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Manage recruitment from vacancy approval through to offer, supporting hiring managers, ATS activity and the candidate experience.
  • Onboarding and Probation: Manage onboarding and probation processes, helping new employees settle in effectively.
  • HR Systems and Data: Maintain HRIS accuracy, employee records and data integrity across HR processes.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Produce HR reports, dashboards and people metrics to support decision-making.
  • HR Administration: Manage HR administration, employee documentation, benefits administration and HR compliance activity.
  • Employee Relations Support: Support disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and performance management processes.
  • Employment Law and Compliance: Help ensure HR practices comply with UK employment law, internal procedures, GDPR and confidentiality requirements.
  • AI and Automation: Identify opportunities to use AI tools, automation and technology to improve HR documentation, reporting and manager self-service.
  • Process Improvement: Lead or support HR improvement projects covering onboarding, HR systems, employee engagement and process optimisation.
  • Manager Support: Advise and support managers with fair, consistent and practical people management guidance.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified.
  • Demonstrable experience in a generalist HR, advisory or equivalent HR role.
  • Experience managing recruitment from end to end.
  • Working knowledge of UK employment law and experience supporting employee relations activities.
  • Experience working in an SME environment, with MSP or professional services sector experience.
  • Experience supporting and advising managers.
  • Excellent HR systems knowledge.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrable experience using AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or similar, to improve HR processes, create documentation, analyse data and increase operational efficiency.
  • Experience using AI tools to analyse HR data and identify trends.
  • Strong understanding of data protection and confidentiality considerations when using AI.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused and curious about new technology.
  • Highly organised, adaptable and confident making decisions.
  • Comfortable operating with autonomy and accountability.
  • Committed to fairness, consistency and high standards.

  • Experience producing HR dashboards and workforce analytics.
