A Hotel Receptionist / Front Desk Agent with excellent client-facing customer service and administrative skills is required to work on the Front of House Reception Desk for a well-established family-run, independent hotel in Hope Cove, South Devon.

SALARY: Competitive + Benefits

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 40-48 Hours per Week, Shift Work, 5 Days out of 7

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Front of House Hotel Receptionist / Front Desk Agent who has excellent client-facing customer service and administrative skills. As the Front of House Hotel Receptionist / Front Desk Agent, you will be working in a welcoming family-run, friendly and supportive environment with added employee benefits. You will play a vital role in upholding the hotel's commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

Your primary responsibility is to deliver warm, welcoming, and efficient service, ensuring every guest feels valued and cared for, in alignment with the hotel's established vision and values. As a successful candidate, you will serve as the first point of contact, responding promptly and courteously to guest inquiries and requests, while contributing to the seamless operation of the reception desk. A proactive and positive approach is essential, reflecting the hotel's dedication to creating a truly memorable stay for each and every guest.

DUTIES

  • Welcome guests on their arrival using the guests' name and assist with their registration ensuring all details of reservations are correct.
  • Check guests out, charge payment accordingly and pass on any feedback to the General Manager.
  • Liaise effectively with other departments.
  • Aid and assist guests during their stay through effective use of social skills and pass on any comments to the relevant personnel.
  • Ensure full handover is passed on to the next shift.
  • Ensure correct procedure regarding all matters of security are observed.
  • Understand the importance of upselling to maximise rooms revenue.
  • Cover the front desk at all times as per rota.
  • Always keep the front desk clean and tidy.
  • Assist with Food and Beverage service (when required) supporting colleagues at busy times. May lead to some Duty Management cover after probation.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have previous experience working on a front-of-house reception desk in a hotel environment.
  • Flexible to work morning and afternoon shifts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proactive with good organisational and time management skills.
  • Previous experience using PMS Guest Line Reslynx and Resdiary highly desirable.
