We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Full-Time Front Desk / Front of House Hotel Receptionist to deliver a consistently high level of customer service at the Reception Desk by dealing with all guests and potential clients in a courteous and efficient manner.
Working as the Front Desk / Front of House Hotel Receptionist you will take all reservation enquiries by telephone, fax, email and in person in the absence of a Reservations Agent adhering to Company sales policies.
As the Front Desk / Front of House Hotel Receptionist you will answer customer enquiries politely and efficiently and where necessary seek help and information from other departments.
DUTIES
Your duties and responsibilities as the Front Desk / Front of House Hotel Receptionist include:
Guest Management:
- Maintain confidential guest records and update them in the PMS (Property Management System)
- Greet and register guests, process check-ins, and ensure all necessary security information is obtained, such as pre-authorisations or deposits
- Handle room changes and ensure special guest requests are communicated to the appropriate departments
Financial & Administrative Tasks:
- Prepare and process End-of-Day reports for Head Office
- Manage banking and daily credit checks for in-house guests, reporting any issues to management
- Ensure all guest bills and charges are accurate, correctly posted, and payments are processed properly
- Handle billing adjustments, send departed guest bills to Head Office, and ensure ledger bills are printed with all required details
Communication & Support:
- Answer all internal and external calls, handle guest inquiries, and cover the switchboard as needed
- Efficiently manage faxes, messages, and other correspondence for guests and hotel departments
- Notify management of VIP arrivals and handle customer inquiries courteously and efficiently
Bookings & Reservations:
- Take reservations via phone, fax, email, or in person
- Promote and upsell hotel facilities to maximise revenue
- Stay up-to-date on rate structures and current promotions
General Duties:
- Be knowledgeable about hotel facilities, local attractions, and transportation routes
- Adhere to all health, safety, and emergency procedures
- Accept changes in work hours to ensure uninterrupted service to hotel guests
