An excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Driver / Class 1 LGV Driver to join a dedicated logistics team based in Hyde, carrying out UK-wide deliveries and collections using curtain-sided trailers.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an HGV Driver / Class 1 LGV Driver to complete deliveries and collections across the UK mainland. As an HGV Driver / Class 1 LGV Driver you will operate curtain-sided trailers, ensuring safe loading, secure transport, and timely delivery of goods.
As an HGV Driver / Class 1 LGV Driver you will be part of a small, professional team that values safe, efficient, and courteous driving. You will take responsibility for vehicle checks, load security, and accurate documentation while complying with RTD and WTD regulations.
This role would suit a skilled driver with excellent geographical knowledge and a strong focus on safety, customer service, and attention to detail.

DUTIES
Your duties as the HGV Driver / Class 1 LGV Driver include:
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate DAF and Mercedes tractor units across UK routes
- Vehicle Inspections: Conduct pre- and post-trip safety checks and ensure load security
- Loading & Unloading: Handle goods as required, maintaining safe manual handling techniques
- Documentation: Complete accurate delivery records, both manually and digitally
- Compliance: Adhere to all driving regulations, RTD and WTD rules, and company policies
- Communication: Liaise effectively with dispatchers and customers on delivery schedules
- Vehicle Care: Maintain cleanliness and report any maintenance needs promptly
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience of working as an HGV Driver or Class 1 LGV Driver
- Full UK Class 1 (C+E) driving licence with valid Driver CPC
- Experience operating curtain-sided trailers
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network
- Good understanding of driver regulations and safety standards
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional, reliable, and safety-focused approach
