A fantastic opportunity for an HGV Driver to join a growing transport and logistics team, driving modern vehicles from a brand-new purpose-built depot.

Due to continued growth, the company has a fantastic new job opportunity for an HGV Driver to join its transport and distribution team in Launceston. As an HGV Driver you will drive a lorry from the company’s fleet, working independently on the road while returning home at the end of every shift. The HGV Driver will support safe, efficient deliveries, complete daily vehicle checks and follow road transport laws, health and safety standards and defect reporting procedures.

DUTIES

  • Vehicle Driving: Drive a lorry from the company’s fleet of vehicles
  • Daily Vehicle Checks: Inspect your vehicle and trailer every day before use
  • Defect Reporting: Complete a Defect Report if required
  • Road Safety: Follow road transport laws and demonstrate safe use of the roads
  • Health and Safety: Take responsibility for health and safety while carrying out driving duties
  • Independent Working: Manage your route and workload without the need for micromanagement
  • Team Support: Work positively with colleagues across the transport and logistics operation
  • Customer Service: Help provide an excellent service to customers through reliable and professional driving

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Driving Licence: Class 1 or Class 2 driving licence, depending on the role
  • Driver CPC: Driver CPC qualification card
  • Road Transport Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of Road Transport Laws
  • Safety Focus: Commitment to safe use of the roads
  • Positive Attitude: A can do approach to work
  • Team Player: Able to work well as part of a friendly and supportive team
  • Independence: Comfortable working on the open road for long stretches
  • Professional Standards: Reliable, responsible and committed to completing duties safely
