JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Head of Sales to play a critical role in shaping the future growth of the organisation and supporting its long-term strategic vision. As a Head of Sales, you will take ownership of national sales performance across industrial services, leading business development activity, strengthening key client relationships and delivering sustainable revenue growth. The Head of Sales will work closely with senior leadership and operational teams, developing growth strategies, overseeing tender activity and identifying new market opportunities across the UK. This role suits a commercially astute sales leader with strong knowledge of the UK industrial market and a proven ability to deliver results through strategic planning, negotiation and leadership.

Duties

  • Business Development Leadership: Generating new leads, developing client relationships and expanding service offerings
  • Sales Strategy Delivery: Creating, implementing and monitoring business growth strategies aligned to company objectives
  • Revenue Generation: Achieving agreed sales targets and maximising contract margins through effective negotiation
  • Tender Management: Overseeing pre-qualification, tender preparation and re-tender activity in collaboration with operational teams
  • Client Relationship Management: Identifying opportunities within existing accounts and strengthening long-term partnerships
  • Market Intelligence: Monitoring competitor activity and providing insight into market trends and opportunities
  • Sales Performance Oversight: Setting targets, identifying priority clients and supporting incentive and award frameworks
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with operations to coordinate bids, pricing and service specifications
  • Data & Reporting: Managing sales databases, maintaining accurate records and producing performance reports
  • Professional Representation: Upholding high standards of integrity, presentation and customer service at all times

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams
  • Previous experience within UK industrial or facilities-related service markets
  • Experience managing medium to high-value service contracts with complex agreements
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to analyse business performance
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels, including Director level
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
  • A proactive, driven and methodical approach to achieving targets
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and operate with professionalism and integrity
