An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA to support learning across a vibrant primary school environment, working with pupils in class, small groups and one‑to‑one to help them achieve their potential.
This role offers variety and challenge, supporting pupils’ learning and development in a positive and inclusive environment. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA you will work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging learning activities, provide targeted support and help maintain high standards of behaviour and wellbeing across the school. The Higher Level Teaching Assistant / HLTA role is ideal for someone who is adaptable, proactive and passionate about supporting children to become confident, curious and aspirational learners.
DUTIES- Supporting Classroom Learning: Working with whole classes to deliver planned learning activities
- Small Group Teaching: Delivering targeted interventions to support pupil progress
- One‑to‑One Support: Providing individualised learning support where required
- Safeguarding and Welfare: Promoting pupil safety and wellbeing at all times
- Behaviour Support: Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Lesson Preparation: Assisting teachers with resources and classroom organisation
- Progress Monitoring: Observing and reporting on pupil development and attainment
- Inclusive Practice: Supporting pupils with diverse learning needs
- Team Collaboration: Working effectively with teachers and support staff
- HLTA Qualification: Hold a recognised Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification
- School‑Based Experience: Previous experience working within a school setting
- Safeguarding Knowledge: A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- Positive Attitude: Flexible, adaptable and willing to take on new challenges
