Location: Great Yarmouth, Norfolk (NR31) — candidates must live within a commutable distance

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Part-Time Hours will be Considered)

Working Hours: 38 hours per week (early finish on Fridays)

Duties:

  • Manual Machining: Produce high-quality machined components in line with the company’s exacting standards.
  • Engineering Drawings: Read and interpret engineering drawings and work accurately to tight tolerances.
  • Manual Milling and Turning: Carry out manual machining work as a Miller, Turner or Dual Skilled Machinist.
  • Tool Setting: Set tools competently, applying a sound understanding of cutting speeds and feeds.
  • Quality Inspection: Use measurement and inspection equipment including verniers, bore gauges and micrometres.
  • Component Finishing: Carry out deburring of machined components during production cycles while minimising disruption to output.
  • Deadline Management: Work efficiently to meet challenging deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Production Support: Take a proactive approach to supporting workflow and helping drive the business forward.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Manual Machining Experience: Previous experience as a Manual Machinist, Manual Miller, Manual Turner or similar precision engineering role.
  • Milling or Turning Skills: Experience in manual milling, manual turning or dual-skilled manual machining.
  • Technical Drawings: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
  • Tolerance Work: Confident working to tight tolerances within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Tooling Knowledge: Competent in all aspects of tool setting, including cutting speeds and feeds.
  • Inspection Equipment: Strong experience using verniers, bore gauges, micrometres and other measurement equipment.
  • Work Ethic: Reliable and motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to high standards.
  • Methodical Approach: Efficient, proactive and methodical, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
