JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an HGV Driver (Class 2 / Cat C) to join a well-established organisation operating within the transport and construction support sector. As an HGV Driver (Class 2 / Cat C) you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of scaffold materials to customer sites, ensuring all transport operations meet compliance and safety standards. Working as an HGV Driver (Class 2 / Cat C) you will also support general yard duties when not on delivery runs, contributing to smooth day-to-day logistics and warehouse operations. This is a varied and hands-on role suited to a dependable driver with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork.

DUTIES

  • Vehicle Operation: Safely drive 26-tonne vehicles to deliver scaffold materials to customer locations
  • Pre-Use Checks: Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance
  • HIAB Operation: Use a HIAB crane to load and unload materials safely (training provided if required)
  • Delivery Documentation: Complete delivery paperwork accurately and maintain records
  • Yard Support: Assist with loading, unloading, stock control, and maintaining a tidy yard
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to meet daily operational requirements
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL:

  • Valid Category C driving licence
  • Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • Good communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling tasks
  • A strong commitment to health and safety practices

DESIRABLE:

  • HIAB licence (training can be provided)
  • Previous experience in a delivery driver or HGV role
  • Experience working within a yard or construction environment
  • Experience securing and transporting similar load types
