An excellent opportunity for a practical, hands-on individual to carry out maintenance, servicing and repairs on air, water and valeting equipment across petrol forecourts. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Candidates DO NOT need an engineering background, although this would be desirable. However, you must be good with your hands and be comfortable working with hand tools (spanners, screwdrivers, ratchet sets etc.). Additional Training Provided.

SALARY: up to £26,436 per annum (£12.72 per Hour) + Overtime + Company Van + Benefits

LOCATION: This role is covering sites throughout Kent and the surrounding areas.

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 40 Hours per Week. Possible weekend working available (not compulsory) if required by the company on a pre-agreed overtime basis for which premium rates are paid.

PLEASE NOTE: You MUST hold a current, Full Driving Licence.

JOB OVERVIEW: We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Field Service Engineer who enjoys practical work, travelling between customer sites and solving problems. As a Field Service Engineer you will maintain, clean, inspect and carry out basic repairs to air, water and valeting equipment across petrol forecourts. Full training is provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone with good manual skills, confidence using hand tools and a willingness to learn. The Field Service Engineer will work independently while delivering excellent customer service.

DUTIES: Your duties as the Field Service Engineer include:

  • Carry out Equipment Checks: Inspect and maintain air, water and valeting machines on customer sites.
  • Perform Basic Repairs: Replace hoses, nozzles and other components to keep equipment operational.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure wash bays and equipment remain clean, safe and presentable.
  • Conduct Test Washes: Test car wash and jet wash systems and replenish chemicals where required.
  • Inspect Vacuum Systems: Check suction performance and confirm equipment meets operational standards.
  • Complete Documentation: Accurately record worksheets, time sheets and service reports.
  • Report Issues: Escalate breakdowns outside your remit to the Service Centre and Line Manager.
  • Communicate Effectively: Build positive relationships with customers and colleagues while representing the company professionally.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Full UK Driving Licence: Able to travel independently between customer sites.
  • Practical Skills: Comfortable using hand tools including spanners, screwdrivers and ratchet sets.
  • Communication Skills: Able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Problem Solving: Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
  • Professional Approach: Reliable, organised and committed to delivering high standards of service.

DESIRABLE:

  • Maintenance Experience: Previous experience within an engineering, maintenance or repair environment.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: Basic mechanical or electrical understanding.
