A Fire Sprinkler Service Engineer is required for a well-established company based in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, North West England. The ideal candidate will have experience in servicing and/or repairing fire sprinkler systems, excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills, and a good understanding of engines, motors, and pumped systems.
SALARY: £33,150 - £41,990 per annum (£15.00 - £19.00 per hour) depending on experience + Company Van + Generous Benefits
LOCATION: Various sites across the North West of England which will include extensive travel. Overnight stays may be required, between 1-2 nights per week; company van provided.
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 42.5 hours per week, 9 hours Monday to Thursday and 6.5 hours on Fridays
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will need a full current driving license.
JOB OVERVIEW: As a Fire Sprinkler Service Engineer, you will join an expanding Service and Maintenance team located in the North West. Your role will involve conducting weekly fire sprinkler system tests and assisting senior engineers with repairs and fault-finding. A good awareness of health and safety is essential.
DUTIES:
- Carry out weekly tests on fire sprinkler systems
- Carry out system inspections, system repairs, and provide an emergency response if required
- Assist higher grade engineers in carrying out repairs and fault finding on fire sprinkler systems
- Carry out checks and flow tests on fire pumps (training will be given)
- Work using a good awareness of health and safety
- Ensure effective communication with the wider business
- Travel to different locations to perform checks and maintenance on fire safety systems
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Driving: A full, valid driver's license
- Technical Skills: Good understanding of commercial sprinkler systems, engines, motors, and pumped systems is required
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform inspections and manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to detect and report issues promptly and accurately
- Understand fire panels and isolations
- Able to work as part of a team
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility, and a 'one team' approach
- This role may require working in challenging or high-pressure situations, particularly during emergencies
