We have a great opportunity for an Employability Tutor to design, plan and deliver inspirational programmes of learning that engage and motivate young people to progress and achieve. Working with learners from initial assessment through to successful completion, as the Employability Tutor you will deliver practical learning that develops employability, social skills, confidence and accredited qualifications. Delivery will include Entry Level to Level 2 programmes, including Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths. This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about creating opportunities through education and supporting young people to build brighter futures through high-quality vocational learning.
DUTIES
- Deliver engaging employability and skills-based teaching to post-16 learners.
- Teach Entry Level to Level 2 programmes, including Functional Skills and GCSE English and Maths.
- Plan and deliver structured schemes of work, lesson plans and individual learning support plans.
- Monitor learner progress, use assessment data and set individual learning targets.
- Organise and support assessments, coursework, examinations and learner accreditation.
- Provide tutorial and pastoral support that promotes learner wellbeing, confidence and achievement.
- Maintain positive behaviour standards and adapt teaching to meet varied learner needs.
- Maintain accurate learner records using ICT, tracking systems and required administration processes.
- Build effective links with apprenticeship tutors and external organisations to support progression.
- Contribute to course reviews, curriculum development, standardisation and quality assurance activity.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- PGCE, Cert Ed, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant vocational specialist subject.
- Experience of delivering learning to young people within a Further Education, post-16 or similar learning environment.
- Experience of teaching English and Maths up to Level 2 and/or GCSE.
- Experience of supporting learners with varying behaviour management needs and barriers to learning.
- Ability to plan and deliver programmes that meet individual learner needs within a group setting.
- Experience of embedding employability, social skills, English, Maths, equality and diversity into teaching and assessment.
- Strong classroom management, communication, organisation and digital skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding, learner wellbeing and high-quality education.
