We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Load Testing Technician / Site Testing Engineer to join a growing organisation delivering specialist load testing, structural testing and on-site engineering services. As a Load Testing Technician / Site Testing Engineer you will support a wide range of nationwide site projects carrying out load testing, structural inspections, equipment setup and technical testing activities across construction and engineering environments.
The Load Testing Technician / Site Testing Engineer will play an important role in preparing testing equipment, installing temporary systems, recording and analysing test data, producing technical documentation and ensuring all site activities are completed safely, efficiently and in line with project specifications.
Duties:
- Carry out on-site load testing and structural testing activities across a range of engineering and construction projects
- Install, assemble and prepare load testing equipment, temporary systems and monitoring devices on customer sites
- Assist with product testing, commissioning activities and engineering inspections in both site and workshop environments
- Record, analyse and document test results and prepare technical reports for client approval
- Identify equipment issues and support troubleshooting and corrective actions during testing operations
- Communicate effectively with clients and site teams to ensure projects are completed efficiently and professionally
- Maintain, inspect and service testing equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance
- Build and adapt testing rigs and support structures to meet individual project requirements
- Follow all company procedures, RAMS and site safety regulations at all times
- Complete accurate site records, test documentation and daily activity logs
- Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians and subcontractors to support successful project delivery
- Maintain clean, organised and safe working environments across site, workshop and storage areas
Candidate Requirements:
- GCSEs in English, Mathematics and Science
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Construction or Engineering or equivalent
- Previous experience in load testing, site engineering, structural testing or engineering support environments
- Experience working with testing equipment, fault finding and technical problem solving
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures within construction, engineering or industrial environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel nationwide, work flexible hours and stay away when required
Desirable:
- Degree in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline
- CSCS Card
- Experience supporting nationwide site projects
- Knowledge of structural, mechanical or electrical engineering principles
