JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Electronics Technician / Field Service Engineer to join a well-established independent service organisation supporting laboratory environments. As an Electronics Technician / Field Service Engineer, you will work on a wide range of laboratory instrumentation, providing service, repair and calibration at customer sites. The role involves visiting universities, hospitals, research institutes and private sector laboratories, delivering high standards of technical support both on a contract and non-contract basis.
DUTIES
- Service And Maintenance: Carrying out servicing and preventative maintenance on laboratory instrumentation
- Fault Diagnosis: Diagnosing electro-mechanical and electronic faults and implementing effective repairs
- Calibration Work: Performing accurate calibration of equipment to required standards
- Customer Support: Providing professional on-site technical support to customers
- Documentation: Completing service reports and maintaining accurate records
- Travel Management: Visiting customer sites primarily across London, Oxford and Cambridge
- Equipment Testing: Ensuring equipment performance meets operational and safety requirements
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience working on instrumentation or similar electronic systems
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Recognised electronics qualification (or equivalent experience) with good mechanical ability
- Computer literate and comfortable using digital tools for diagnostics and reporting
- Enthusiastic, with a desire to learn and develop new technical skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Organised with good time management and communication skills
