An excellent opportunity for an experienced Electronics Technician / Field Service Engineer to join a leading independent service company, providing diagnostics, repair and calibration services on a wide range of instrumentation equipment.
We are looking for candidates with experience as Instrumentation Engineer, Calibration Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Electrical Technician, Service Technician, Electronics Engineer, Technical Service Engineer or Laboratory Equipment Engineer.
Salary: £34,000 per annum + Car + Bonus + Benefits
Location: Visiting sites primarily in the London, Oxford and Cambridge area and occasionally other areas of the UK
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence required
Job Overview: As an Electronics Technician / Field Service Engineer you will work on a wide range of laboratory instrumentation, providing service, repair and calibration at customer sites. You will be visiting universities, hospitals, research institutes and private sector laboratories, delivering high standards of technical support on a contract and non-contract basis. You will join an organisation known for long-standing customer relationships, technical excellence and a strong reputation within the scientific and laboratory services sector.
Duties:
- Carry out servicing and preventative maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.
- Diagnose electro-mechanical and electronic faults and implement effective repairs.
- Perform accurate calibration of equipment to required standards.
- Provide professional on-site technical support to customers.
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records.
- Travel to customer sites primarily across London, Oxford and Cambridge.
- Ensure equipment performance meets operational and safety requirements.
Candidate Requirements:
- Previous experience working on instrumentation or similar electronic systems.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Recognised electronics qualification (or equivalent experience) with good mechanical ability.
- Computer literate and comfortable using digital tools for diagnostics and reporting.
- Enthusiastic, with a desire to learn and develop new technical skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Organised with good time management and communication skills.
