We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Editorial Assistant / Content Writer to join a growing publishing team producing lifestyle magazines, digital content and marketing campaigns. Working as an Editorial Assistant / Content Writer you will create engaging content, support editorial workflows and ensure all copy is accurate, consistent and aligned with brand tone and style guidelines. As an Editorial Assistant / Content Writer you will collaborate with editors, designers and stakeholders, managing multiple deadlines while contributing ideas and supporting content strategy. This role is ideal for someone with strong copywriting, content creation and proofreading skills looking to build a career in publishing, marketing and digital content.
Duties
- Content Writing: Producing engaging editorial, digital and promotional content across print and online channels
- Copywriting: Creating clear, compelling copy aligned with brand voice and audience engagement goals
- Research: Conducting thorough research to ensure content is accurate, relevant and well-structured
- Proofreading and Editing: Reviewing and refining content to maintain high editorial standards and consistency
- Content Planning: Supporting editorial meetings and contributing ideas for future publications and campaigns
- Deadline Management: Managing multiple projects and ensuring all content is delivered on time
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with designers, clients and internal teams to align content with visual design
- Content Coordination: Liaising with contributors and clients to source, manage and chase content
- Editorial Support: Assisting the Editor and stepping in when required to support wider team objectives
- Digital Content Support: Supporting online content, competitions, data management and audience engagement
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a content writing, editorial, copywriting or publishing role, ideally within magazines, publishing or lifestyle content
- Strong copywriting, content creation and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to write engaging, SEO-friendly content across multiple formats and audiences
- Experience managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced publishing or marketing environment
- Strong organisational, time management and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A relevant qualification in Journalism, English, Media or similar
- Understanding of media law, editorial standards and content best practice
- A proactive, creative and adaptable approach to work
