JOB OVERVIEW

This is an exciting opportunity for a Leisure Centre Duty Manager to take an operational lead across busy wet-side and dry-side community facilities. The Leisure Centre Duty Manager will help ensure services run smoothly while providing excellent customer service, supporting colleagues and creating a positive experience for members of the public. With a refurbished fitness suite, swimming pools, sports halls, studios, pitches and courts, the Leisure Centre Duty Manager will bring strong communication, attention to detail, flexibility and a drive for results.

DUTIES

  • Operational Leadership: Take the operational lead across the leisure and sports centre facilities and help ensure services run smoothly
  • Customer Service: Deliver excellent service to members of the public and support a welcoming customer experience
  • Team Leadership: Provide confident day-to-day leadership and support colleagues in delivering a high standard of service
  • Facility Standards: Maintain a keen eye for detail across a varied mix of wet-side and dry-side leisure facilities
  • Service Development: Support the continued development and growth of the leisure centre offer
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and facility users

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Good understanding and knowledge of the leisure industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Natural leadership skills with a strong customer service focus
  • Flexibility, commitment, drive and determination
  • Strong attention to detail with the enthusiasm and stamina to deliver results

DESIRABLE

  • NPLQ Fitness Instructor Level 2 (or equivalent)
  • Pool Plant Operation qualification (or equivalent)
  • Swim Teaching Level 1 or Level 2 (or equivalent)
  • Recognised management qualification or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
