An exciting opportunity for an experienced Rents and Service Charge Finance Manager to lead rent setting, regulatory compliance, data accuracy and assurance across multiple housing tenures within a regulated housing environment.
This is officially known within the organisation as a Rent Compliance Manager.
SALARY: £57,003 - £64,000 per annum + Benefits
LOCATION: Hybrid working role split between the office in Ealing (W5) and the remaining time from home

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Rents and Service Charge Finance Manager to join a high-performing finance function within a large, regulated housing organisation. As a Rents and Service Charge Finance Manager you will lead the annual rent setting process, ensuring all rent charges are calculated, applied and communicated in full compliance with housing regulation, legislation and internal governance. In this influential role, the Rents and Service Charge Finance Manager provides expert advice across the organisation, leads assurance activity, supports regulatory returns, and develops robust controls, high-quality data and continuous improvement across rent compliance functions.
Duties
- Rent Setting Leadership: Lead annual and ad-hoc rent setting activities ensuring full legislative, regulatory and contractual compliance
- Policy & Regulation Oversight: Maintain rent policies and procedures, monitoring regulatory changes and ensuring organisational compliance
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, motivate and develop the Rent Compliance team, setting objectives, managing performance and building technical capability
- Governance & Reporting: Prepare executive and board-level papers including financial modelling, analysis and recommendations
- Compliance & Assurance: Lead rent compliance checks, reconciliations, internal audits and regulatory assurance activity
- Data Quality Management: Oversee rent data accuracy across housing and finance systems, leading data cleansing and correction activity
- Systems Development: Support the implementation, development and testing of rent-related systems and processes
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with finance, housing and development teams on rent reviews, new schemes, acquisitions and disposals
- Risk & Controls: Maintain rent compliance risk registers, approval frameworks and financial controls
Candidate requirements
ESSENTIAL
- Educated to degree level
- Strong knowledge of housing regulation, including the Rent Standard and relevant legislation
- Previous experience managing rent setting processes within a housing provider or regulated environment
- High numerical accuracy with strong analytical and compliance assessment skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and report-writing abilities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience using data analysis tools
DESIRABLE
- Knowledge of Power Pivot and Power BI
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
