Leisure Centre Duty Manager with a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), previous supervisory/management experience, and extensive knowledge of the leisure industry is required for a well-established Academy Trust based in Hedge End, Southampton.

SALARY: £27,821 per annum (£24,405 per annum + 14% Shift Allowance) + Benefits

LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Shift hours are completed over five or six days within a 4-week rota, including evenings and weekends.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Leisure Centre Duty Manager with a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), previous supervisory/management experience, and extensive knowledge of the leisure industry.

Reporting to the Leisure Centre Manager, the Leisure Centre Duty Manager will be responsible for the Leisure Centre and separate Sports Centre. The ideal candidate will have a drive for success, a passion for excellent service, and a desire to work in a stimulating organisation.

The Leisure Centre features a recently fully refurbished Fitness Suite supported by a 25m Swimming Pool, Learner Pool, Sports Hall, Gymnasium, Multi-Use Hall/Studio, Astro-turf, 3G pitch, Tennis Courts, and Grass Football pitches. These facilities are supported by separate wet and dry side changing areas.

The Sports Centre, located just 2 miles from the Leisure Centre, offers facilities including a full-size FIFA-approved floodlit 3G pitch, three floodlit tennis & netball courts, a four-court sports hall, exercise studio, and grass pitches. This venue attracts local adult and junior clubs, creating a vibrant atmosphere in a beautiful setting.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • NPLQ – National Pool Lifeguard Qualification
  • Good understanding of the leisure industry
  • Leisure Supervision/Management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the leisure industry
  • Flexibility and commitment

Desirable

  • Fitness Instructor Level 2
  • Pool Plant Operation
  • Swim Teaching L1/2
  • A recognised qualification in Leisure Management or NVQ Level 3
