JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

Build your property law career in a supportive environment with varied client-facing work across conveyancing and leasing. The Paralegal will manage transactions and maintain strong client contact. Working closely with colleagues and external parties, the Paralegal will help keep matters moving accurately and on time while contributing to a busy property team. Structured training, ongoing professional development and supported progression give the Paralegal scope to grow while supporting clients and colleagues effectively.

As a successful candidate you will join a firm that has held Investors in People accreditation since 1997 and recently gained Gold accreditation. The firm are proud to be a friendly legal practice that genuinely cares about their staff. Many of their solicitors and support staff have been with them for over 30 years, reflecting the positive, inclusive culture they have worked hard to create.

DUTIES

  • Manage own workload to meet client deadlines
  • Deal promptly with client instructions
  • Manage property and leasing transactions
  • Liaise with the estate agent and handle ESPC matters
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents and other third parties
  • Proactively attend to file management
  • Provide support to other members of the property team

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Professionally accredited or registered paralegal with a recognised legal professional body, with demonstrable knowledge and experience of Scots law relevant to the role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a caseload effectively
  • Strong business awareness of deadlines and working under pressure
  • Excellent attention to detail

DESIRABLE

  • Previous relevant experience
  • Experience in a similar role dealing with purchase and sale transactions, title queries across Sasine and Land Registers, and notices of potential liability
