We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Temporary Works Design Engineerwho has an HND or degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with experience using structural design software and AutoCAD.

Working as the Temporary Works Design Engineer you will join a company who is developing their inhouse design capability and expanding their small design team.

As the Temporary Works Design Engineer you will undertake conceptual and detailed designs for both temporary works on a variety of tunnelling and below ground civil engineering projects.

As a successful candidate you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of the team and design process. You will have design experience in temporary works gained on civil engineering projects and will be looking to join the company to further develop your knowledge and skills.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Temporary Works Design Engineer include:

Assist in the development of conceptual designs

Prepare calculations, written reports and drawings

Check design calculations and drawings undertaken by others

Attend client meetings and site visits as required

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Technical qualification (example Degree in Civil Engineering or HND) or equivalent

You must have commercial experience working in a design environment in the UK on a range of civil engineering projects including, tunnels, shafts, or civil infrastructure

You must be keen to develop your skills in below ground civil engineering design

You will be familiar with Eurocodes and have a sound understanding of CDM Regulations, specifically the designer’s requirements and requirements regarding the design risk assessment process

You will have excellent communication skills in IT, verbal and written forms

You will have experience in the use of structural design software and AutoCAD

You will hold a full UK driving licence
