The company has a fantastic new job opportunity for a proactive Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical fault-finding, mechanical maintenance and manufacturing plant experience.

SALARY: Up to £49,511 per annum + Paid Overtime Opportunities + Benefits

LOCATION: Birch Vale, High Peak (with travel to Stalybridge site as required)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday with Overtime Available

JOB OVERVIEW: This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer who enjoys fault-finding, continuous improvement and working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. As the Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in helping ensure the reliability, efficiency and safety of production equipment across the organisation's manufacturing operations. The Maintenance Engineer will respond to plant breakdowns, deliver planned preventative maintenance, support site improvement projects and help improve equipment uptime across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

DUTIES: Your duties as the Maintenance Engineer include:

  • Breakdown Response: Respond promptly and effectively to equipment and plant breakdowns
  • Fault Finding: Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across production equipment
  • Planned Maintenance: Deliver planned preventative maintenance activities
  • Continuous Improvement: Support initiatives to improve equipment reliability and uptime
  • Plant Systems: Maintain pumps, pipework, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Machinery Inspections: Inspect machinery and plant to identify potential issues before failures occur
  • Maintenance Records: Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Project Support: Assist with equipment installations and site improvement projects
  • Health and Safety: Work safely at all times and ensure compliance with company Health & Safety procedures

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Time-served engineering background or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification, although 17th Edition will be considered
  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of electrical control systems, motors and drives, pumps and pipework, pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

DESIRABLE:

  • Experience with plastics, polymer, chemical or processing machinery
  • PLC fault-finding experience
  • Welding or fabrication skills
  • Continuous improvement or lean manufacturing experience
