A great opportunity for an experienced Plumber / Plumbing Engineer to join a friendly Estates and Facilities team maintaining and repairing plumbing systems for a range of buildings and supported housing environments across multiple sites in Croydon, Lewisham, Lambeth and Southwark.
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Plumber / Plumbing Engineer with experience in installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems including water, heating and drainage. As a Plumber / Plumbing Engineer you will be part of a collaborative maintenance team, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard while following health and safety guidelines. The role requires someone with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to working both independently and as part of a wider team.
DUTIES
- Install, Maintain and Repair: Water, heating and drainage systems including pipes, valves, drains and fixtures
- Diagnose Faults: Identify and fix issues promptly and effectively
- Plan and Measure: Calculate time and materials required for each project with your Line Manager
- Ensure Compliance: Work to current plumbing regulations and company policies
- Collaborate: Work with colleagues, building managers and other trades as needed
- Maintain Standards: Keep all work areas clean and safe, protecting fixtures and furniture
- Record Keeping: Accurately log materials used and purchased
- Travel: Support other sites as required and respond to emergency call-outs
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
- Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plumbing or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience of plumbing installation, maintenance and fault finding
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to high standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of health and safety procedures
DESIRABLE
- Level 3 Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
- Experience in gas engineering or heating systems maintenance
This role requires a DBS check.
