Multiple Positions Available
This is a great opportunity for a reliable Steel Fixer with strong construction experience, capable of shuttering and concreting. As the Steel Fixer you will work as part of a site team responsible for positioning and securing steel bars or mesh to reinforce concrete structures. The Steel Fixer will read and interpret working plans, assemble steel reinforcement and work to a high standard.
DUTIES
- Work Area Set-Up: Set out the work area using site plans
- Bar and Mesh Preparation: Cut and bend bars or mesh
- Rebar tying: Tie rebar together with wire, clips or welds to build up sections
- Spacers and Supports: Fit spacers and supports
- Formwork and Shuttering: Fix the wooden formwork and shuttering used to hold setting concrete in place
- Steel Fixing to Bases: Fix steel to concrete bases
- Beam and Slab Installation: Install beams and pre-cast slabs
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- NVQ in Steel Fixing preferred
- Valid Blue CSCS Card
- Ability to understand technical drawings
- Extensive construction experience working in a similar role
- Experience tying reinforced steel
- Capable of shuttering and concreting
- Reliable, hardworking and committed to working safely while delivering high-quality workmanship
