An excellent opportunity for a Cook with previous catering and hands-on food preparation experience to prepare high-quality meals for residents and guests within a friendly restaurant service. This role is officially known within the organisation as a Weekend Chef.
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Cook to join a friendly and hard-working catering team, preparing and cooking meals for a busy resident restaurant service. As a Cook you will prepare high-quality meals for residents and guests, taking responsibility for specific dietary and cultural needs in line with resident food profiles. The Cook will also complete basic catering administration, record meals sold, share resident feedback with the Chef Manager and help maintain excellent standards of hygiene, health and safety and customer service.
DUTIES- Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook meals for a busy resident restaurant service.
- Resident Catering: Provide high-quality meals for residents and guests, taking account of dietary and cultural requirements.
- Food Profiles: Follow resident food profiles to support individual needs and preferences.
- Catering Administration: Complete documentation, record meals sold and report resident feedback to the Chef Manager.
- Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety and health and safety legislation and guidelines, including the Registered Homes Act 1984.
- Service Standards: Work with colleagues to maintain the standards set by the Catering Manager.
- Time Management: Take responsibility for planning and managing your own time during service.
- Customer Engagement: Communicate positively with elderly and vulnerable residents, customers and their families.
- Previous catering and hands-on food preparation experience.
- Ability to commute to Stanwell (TW19).
- Ability to engage professionally and compassionately with elderly and vulnerable customers and their families.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable completing online training, with support provided where needed.
- Willingness to attend initial face-to-face training sessions on a weekday, where required.
- Catering or cooking qualification.
- Experience working in a care and support environment.
- Cooking experience for large volumes of people.
