An excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a manufacturing environment, to edit/program, set and operate the milling machine to produce orders on time and to the required high quality standards.

As a CNC Miller / Machinist you will effectively edit/program, set and operate a 4-axis vertical milling machine to produce orders on time and to the required high quality standards. The CNC Miller / Machinist role would suit a qualified engineer looking to develop their skills.

DUTIES
  • Set and operate CNC milling machines with FANUC controls
  • Machine a variety of materials including steels, stainless, aluminium bronze and exotics
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Edit and adjust existing CNC programs
  • Perform machine setups, tooling changes and offsets
  • Inspect components using manual measuring equipment
  • Monitor long cycle runs and maintain own quality standards
  • Identify and implement minor process improvements
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL
  • Competent machinist, with experience from a similar role
  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in Engineering preferred
  • Able to understand engineering drawings
  • Able to set or modify existing programs
  • Use manual measuring equipment
  • Strong work ethic with good organisational skills
  • Willingness and ability to follow management directions to achieve results
  • Excellent timekeeping & communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and desire to learn
  • Ability to work alone and part of a team
