SALARY: £26,437+ per annum / £12.71+ per Hour (depending on experience) + Benefits
LOCATION: Wirral, Merseyside, North West England
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent (Part-Time Hours will also be considered)
WORKING HOURS: 40 Hours per Week, 8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday, 8:00am-2:00pm Friday
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Industrial Sewing Machinist to join a well-established manufacturing organisation. Working as an Industrial Sewing Machinist you will be responsible for producing high-quality PVC products using a range of techniques including sewing, cutting, binding and welding. Full training will be provided to support your development.
As an Industrial Sewing Machinist you will play a key role in supporting production targets, maintaining quality standards and ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail, a proactive approach and experience in manufacturing or industrial sewing to further develop their skills in a supportive environment.
DUTIES
- Manufacturing Operations: Carry out sewing, cutting, binding, preparation and welding of PVC products
- Production Work: Support daily production activities to meet targets and deadlines
- Machine Operation: Use industrial sewing machines and associated equipment safely and efficiently
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure high standards and accuracy
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance and fault finding on sewing machines
- Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety procedures at all times
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across production, design and logistics teams
- Training and Development: Participate in training to develop skills across multiple production processes
- Logistics Support: Assist with packing, shipping, receiving and final inspections as required
- Documentation and Systems: Follow company procedures and maintain accurate records where required
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or industrial environment
- Experience with industrial sewing machines, cutting, binding or welding equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Positive, reliable and proactive approach to work
- Good communication skills with a professional and friendly manner
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
DESIRABLE:
- A background in textile or PVC manufacturing
- Interest in developing skills within a B2C manufacturing environment
- Basic machine maintenance or fault-finding experience
