A School Caretaker / Site Facilities Assistant & Maintenance Operative who is energetic, physically fit, pro-active and organised is required for a school based in Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire.

Specific trade strengths in areas such as painting, plumbing and/or carpentry would be an advantage but not essential. Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries also form an important part of the job. Full health and safety training will be given.

SALARY: £27,333 per annum - Actual salary £24,405 plus 12% shift allowance of £2,928.60 + Excellent Benefits

LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, working a two-week alternating shift pattern of Monday to Friday 6.30am to 2.30pm and 11.00am to 7.00pm - Flexibility regarding the start/finish times will be required to cover colleague holidays.

JOB OVERVIEW: Working as the School Caretaker / Site Facilities Assistant & Maintenance Operative, you will help maintain the school site in order to provide a clean and safe environment for all users of the school. You will work with the site team ensuring general repairs and maintenance are carried out. You will need to be able to use your initiative and problem solve whilst ensuring that health and safety regulations are adhered to.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: As the School Caretaker / Site Facilities Assistant & Maintenance Operative you will be able to:

  • Undertake a range of repairs and maintenance and ensure lighting and heating are operational
